GUIDELINES

  1. Applications for the Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development's (PHCD) 2024 Public Housing Waitlist can be submitted online only during the established open registration period from Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 12 a.m. (Midnight) through Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time). No paper applications will be available or accepted.

  2. All applications completed and submitted during the open online application submission period will have the same opportunity to automatically be entered into a computer-generated randomization process, regardless of the date or time of submittal. Applicant(s) will receive a confirmation number to acknowledge successful transmission of the application.

  3. Submission of an application does not guarantee placement on the 2024 Public Housing Waitlist. Only 7,500 applications will be randomly selected for placement on this Waitlist.

  4. Applicant(s) who submit more than one (1) application or who make misleading or false statements will be disqualified.

  5. Once applications are randomly sorted and assigned a ranking number, applicants will be notified of their ranking in writing to the mailing address and/or email address provided at the time of submission. They can also check their status by contacting the Applicant Leasing Center at 786-469-4300.

  6. Eligibility Requirements: At the time of selection, Applicant(s) must meet the program requirements and the income limits for the household composition established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The 2024 income limits are as follows:

  8. Preferences: Applicant(s) assigned a ranking number will be prioritized based on the following category of preferences: 1) Displacement due to Natural Disaster; 2) Displacement due to Government Action; 3) Homeless; 4) Veteran; 5) Domestic Violence; and 6) ALF preference for individuals 62 years of age or older.

Persons with disabilities may seek guidance with completing the application by contacting the Applicant Leasing Center at (786) 469-4300 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.

Technical Assistance Locations:
If you do not have internet access or a device to connect and submit the application and you need assistance with completing your online application, you may go to any of the locations listed below between October 15, 2024, and October 25, 2024, Monday thru Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except holidays, or you can call 311 for information or you can submit an application online at any time during the open online application submission period. INSTRUCTIONS:
The Head of Household must be at least 18 years of age at the time of this submission.

Please have the following information available for the Head of Household (HOH) and for all additional household members:

  • Full name
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Race
  • Social security numbers
  • Veteran status
  • Current mailing address, phone number, and email address
  • Disability status and/or special needs
  • Unit accessibility needs (e.g., wheelchair, hearing impaired, vision impaired)

Note: Ethnicity and Race are collected for statistical purposes only.

MAINTAINING YOUR STATUS ON THE WAITLIST
If you have a change of address, phone number, income or family size, you must notify us within 10 business days of the change by contacting the Applicant Leasing Center at 786-469-4300.

If you do not respond to our notifications, or your letter is returned undeliverable, YOUR NAME WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE WAITLIST.

PLEASE BE AWARE: APPLYING FOR THE PUBLIC HOUSING WAITLIST IS FREE. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME IN WHICH YOU CAN APPLY. PHCD WILL NEVER ASK FOR A CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR REQUIRE A CREDIT REPORT IN ORDER FOR YOU TO APPLY. THE ONLY WEBSITE TO APPLY FOR 2024 PUBLIC HOUSING WAITLIST IS:
